Sony’s PlayStation Portable (PSP) has been a groundbreaking innovation since its first launch and we have seen considerable improvements in its basic design and features since then. Sony had committed to launch its new version a while ago and had launched various competitions to design the device. Now the next gen PSP has been announced and it is due to be launched by the end of 2011.
The device is codenamed as NGP (Next Gen Portable) and the main attractions in it for the users are its 5 key features: the all new innovative user interface, real and virtual reality convergence, location based entertainment and social interaction. The device will be fully compatible with the downloadable PSP games and will come with a PlayStation Suite.
The device will come with 5-inch organic LED screen with multi touch technology. It will fully support PSP titles, comics and videos and minis from the PlayStation Store. Dual analog sticks, 3G and Wi-Fi are among some other notable features and users will be able to enhance its memory with the help of flash memory cards. It will come with dual cameras, one at the front and one at the rear which will allow the users to make video calls via the internet. The price and the release date are not yet confirmed.
