Sixthsense: Gestural Interface for Future

I have seen many new technologies but I haven’t been this excited. I was literally jumping up and down when I saw the demo of this product.  The device I saw was a wearable gestural interface.  It is called SixthSense.  It contains a pocket projector and a camera.  Together they support large number of functions. With the camera the device can decipher gestures; with projector it can show videos on any surface.

Since this device understands your gestures, you can actually draw a circle on your hands and the projector will show video of a real clock.  Similarly, you can make a rectangle with your fingers and it will take a picture.  Also, since it has a camera, it can extract information from a newspaper and stream a video on to it (mind boggling!).

When technology brings information literally to your finger tips, dream of creating new and improved future becomes a reality. With this device we can finally bridge the gap between virtual and real world.  I wouldn’t go so far to say that his device will change the world completely, but I will say this: This device will define the next level of human computer interaction.
